Americans are just not used to eating organ meats. I am one of them. I have avoided them most of my life. However, I’ve recently decided to overcome my fear and find simple ways that taste good to incorporate them into my diet.

Chinese medicine believes eat the organ you want to heal. Considering the wide scope of modern diseases that plague so many, such as cardiovascular disease, dementia, non alcoholic fatty liver, it might be worth following this advice.

Check out my recent article, Offal- Not so Awful: Organ Meats and the Paleo Diet on Dr. Cordain’s website. I am excited to be a regular contributor and part of the Paleo Team on thepaleodiet.com, stay tuned for future contributions.

Join me in eating more organs to take full advantage of the health benefits. Here are some dairy-free liver pate recipes to inspire you. I’ve started by eating chicken liver pate on Flackers flax seeds crackers or on cucumber slices. It really tastes great, and makes a quick, nutritious snack.
