I know, it already sounds like a gimmick, but I’m not actually selling you anything. This is a friendly reminder that you have the power to transform the way you look, feel, and perform through choosing to eat whole, unprocessed food. Fortunately, to motivate you through the process, the Lurong Living Paleo Challenge begins on September 16th, 2013. Now is the time to sign up and see what you are capable of achieving. The gym members at CrossFit 206 are so excited to get started that some of them are thinking about getting a two-week head start on the process. It’s inspired me and I hope it inspires you too.
Why should you consider participating in this challenge?
1. Be accountable. Lurong is a very strict Paleo challenge that requires you record the food you eat and penalizes you for any “cheats”. Keeping a food diary is the most basic and economical way to learn about your eating habits and triggers. Think of it as an 8 week experiment in paying attention to what actually goes into your mouth and how your body feels when it is fueled properly.
2. Focus on food. You can’t out exercise poor nutrition. That’s my PG version of Robb Wolf’s quote in the above photo. Most of my clients spend very little time thinking about what they will eat or have eaten. However, once they learn how to create a food plan for to eat on a regular basis and how to successfully navigate social events it changes their lives (along with their waistlines). It is possible to eat well without cooking, investing a ton of time in the kitchen, or spending a small fortune.
3. Transform yourself. Why do you think all these weight loss reality television shows are so popular? Our society obsesses over the idea of being able to radically change bodies, especially while sitting their on their couches and indulging in another bowl of ice cream. Guess what? You can do it without a live in personal trainer and private chef when good quality, unprocessed food goes into your mouth on a regular basis.
