I love the raw food aisle at our local market because I always find new things to eat. The raw food diet incorporates a lot of sprouted seeds and nuts. Those are the same types of foods we can be incorporating into our Paleo diet. That way you don’t have to feel like you are eating meat all the time (not that I see a problem with that.)
On my last trip to the store I discovered a new product by Living Intentions, called a Salad Booster, which they describe as rocket fuel for your salad. The salad booster contains ground spouted pumpkin, chia, sunflower seeds, as well as spirulina, chorella, dulse, kelp, Himalayan salt and spices like ginger and garlic. I found it to be really flavorful, and I love the idea of being able to easily add a whole bunch of seeds, salt, and sea vegetables to my plate without taking the time to soak, sprout and prepare them myself.
The salad booster can be used as a topping on anything you make, such as soups, stews, or even kale chips. The resealable bag also makes it great to take on the road to enhance the salads you eat out.
Check out the raw foods aisle at your store and see what you can find to keep things interesting in the kitchen.
