Day Twenty Nine: Hazelnuts

I ate soaked and roasted hazelnuts at a potluck recently and they were so good I couldn’t stop eating them.  I picked up hazelnuts at the store and just finished soaking them (for 24 hours) and roasting them. Some of them taste good and some of them taste a little rancid. I had this problem with rancid hazelnuts or at least hazelnuts that taste funny to me from this market before which is why I stopped eating them. If nuts smell or taste off, it is most likely that they are not good for eating. The last thing you want to eat is poor quality oils. Always make sure your oils are fresh and as one of my nutritionist friends says: smell your nuts 🙂
