A path to wellbeing

Day Two: Dining out

Dining out can be especially daunting when eating whole foods. It is difficult to control what goes into your meal when it is prepared by others- especially the quality of the ingredients. I chose to meet friends this morning for Sunday Breakfast- it is often the easiest place to start!

I was able to get a beautiful three egg omlet, a side of fruit, and I shared a piece of bacon from my husband’s plate. I asked the server to leave the potatoes and the toast off the plate and to not use butter.

Being able to eat whole, nutritious foods and still maintain my social life is a win win. Seek out places that will accommodate special requests and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want.

  1. Is cheese appropriate with the eggs for breakfast? I alwasys like them better with a little gorganzola or feta.

    • HI Russell, If you are ‘primarily’ paleo and know that you don’t have a reaction to dairy then cheese is appropriate with breakfast. The best way to test if you have an issue with a specific food is to eliminate it from your diet for at least 14 days then reintroduce it. Some people do better with hard cheeses like parmesean, rather than a feta/ gorganzola which is a soft cheese. Thanks for your comment 🙂
