Vista Farmer’s Market

We just spent the weekend down in San Diego County and discovered a great Farmer’s Market on Saturday in the town of Vista. We stocked up on  local strawberries that were just picked that morning, fresh organic grapefruits and tangerines, and raw (unpasteurized) almonds. It was a large market with pastured and grass fed products, lots of produce, and a handful of marketplace vendors. There was some live music and a man with a bunch of parrots on display.

Going to the market is one of our family’s favorite weekly activities and it was a great experience to check out a market in another part of the country. We also were able to take advantage of the strawberries being in season in Southern California. I also now have an organic source for raw almonds and an opportunity to support a small farmer.

The next time you’re on vacation check out the local market to see what is available!
